Special Collections

The Walden Woods Project’s Library is honored to be the designated repository for the organizational records of The Thoreau Alliance, the Emerson Society, the Margaret Fuller Society, and the Louisa May Alcott Society. We also hold the research collections for number of important scholars and writers on Thoreau, his contemporaries, and the environmental movement. It is the mission of the library to collect, preserve and make available research materials relating to the Transcendentalists, their historical context, and their contemporary relevance to human-rights and environmental issues. Our growing collection serves as a vital resource for scholars from around the world, as well as for students and teachers locally. For more information on these collections, click below.
