Careers and Volunteering

Volunteer Opportunities:

The Walden Woods Project is always grateful to the many people who volunteer their time by working on The Farm, building and maintaining our trails, completing administrative projects for the organization, and making our public events and programs run smoothly. Opportunities to volunteer for individuals and groups come up throughout the year, and will be posted here.

Employment Opportunities:

The Walden Woods Project Farm seeks energetic assistance for the 2019 season!  Our certified-organic vegetable farm is on 8 acres on Route 2 in Concord, MA.  We also run a small farm stand where we sell our own and other local produce.  Depending on your interests and skill set, work will be either in the fields, or in the farm stand…or maybe both!

For the farm stand: organizational skills are essential.  Retail experience and knowledge of produce are desirable.  Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, operating the POS system and keeping the space tidy.   Candidates should enjoy interacting with the public.

Agricultural tasks include planting, weeding and harvesting our own produce.

Both positions are temporary and require reliability, flexibility, hard work, patience, and ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time.  Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs.   Our season runs from June or July through Halloween.  Weekends, as well as Labor Day and Columbus Day, are required. Please send resume to wwproject@walden.org and put FARM 2019 in the subject line.
