A Greeting.

A GREETING.

FOR all good fellows everywhere
My heart beats true and strong:
I see you with your faces fair,
Though mingled with the throng.

I meet you on the broad highway,
Where oft I walk alone,
When evening shades shut out the day,
And brighter scenes have flown.

I know ye by your easy walk,
Your voices full of cheer,
And often halt with you to talk,
Or lend a listening ear.

A blessing on each honest soul!
A hearty shake of hand!
Nor shall the base the world control,
While ye adorn the land.
