As the new year begins, the stunning, new Walden Pond State Reservation Visitor Center is now open to the public. As the official Friends of Walden Pond, The Walden Woods Project is excited about the opportunity to work more closely with the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s interpretive staff at the Pond and to contribute to the interpretive assets at the Visitor Center, which will be arriving over the coming months.
We are particularly excited about a welcome video that we are contributing, with Ken Burns as Executive Producer, that will be shown at the Visitor Center, to debut later this year.
Winter is a wonderful time to visit Walden Pond and discover the peace and solitude of Walden outside of the busy tourist season. It’s also a great time to come visit the new Visitor Center!
