Barnes & Noble Bookfairs

As part of our Thoreau Bicentennial Statewide Read, six Barnes & Noble locations in Massachusetts (plus one in California!) are featuring Thoreau-inspired Bookfair events! A portion of the proceeds from the Bookfairs support The Walden Woods Project!

  • Braintree Barnes & Noble; Friday, July 7 at 11 AM—Reading of Henry Builds a Cabin (by D.B. Johnson), followed by building recycled cardboard models of Thoreau’s house at Walden Pond.
  • Walpole Barnes & Noble; Friday, July 7, 10:30 AM—Reading of Henry and the Huckleberries with author Sally Sanford, followed by making nature bags.
  • Framingham Barnes & Noble; Saturday, July 8 at 11:30 AM—Reading of Henry and the Huckleberries with author Sally Sanford, followed by making nature bags.
  • Saugus Barnes & Noble; Sunday, July 9, 11 AM—Reading of Henry Works and Henry Builds a Cabin (both by D.B. Johnson), followed by making nature bags.
  • Hingham Barnes & Noble; Monday, July 10, 11:30 AM— Reading of Henry and the Huckleberries with author Sally Sanford, followed by making of nature bags.
  • Bellingham Barnes & Noble, Tuesday, July 11, 11 AM—Reading of Henry Works and Henry Builds a Cabin (both by D.B. Johnson)followed by making nature bags.  Tuesday, July 11, 2 PM—Thoreau and Mindfulness, exploring the connections and experiencing some of the practices
