DESCRIPTION:\nWe hope you'll join us and the Friends of Walden Pond for an 
 exciting book launch! We will be welcoming acclaimed Architect Maryann Tho
 mpson\, and Caroline Constant\, author and Professor Emerita of Architectu
 re at the University of Michigan for the launch of "Between Shadow and Lig
 ht: The Work of Maryann Thompson". \n\n\nThompson designed the Walden Visi
 tor Center which was dedicated in 2017. It has won several awards for its 
 wooden architecture\, accessibility and sustainability. \n\n\n"Between Sha
 dow and Light" probes Maryann Thompson’s commitment to an architecture t
 hat is sustainable and regionally driven and her penchant for heightening 
 the experiential qualities of each project through a holistic\, consensus-
 building approach to design.\n\n\nWe hope to see you at the Visitors Cente
