DESCRIPTION:\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nCome to Walden Woods and help us document specie
 s in honor of E.O. Wilson's Birthday!\n\nThe Walden Woods Project\, Minute
  Man National Historical Park\, the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation\, 
 and local naturalist Peter Alden hope you will join us in a monumental eff
 ort to document as many species of living organisms as possible within a f
 ive-mile radius of Walden Pond on July 6\, 2019. We are celebrating Dr. E.
 O. Wilson’s 90th birthday and the 30th anniversary of BioBlitzes in Mass
 achusetts with this special event.\n\nEveryone is welcome at the Great Wal
 den BioBlitz. For the general public\, we will have guided walks in the mo
 rning at The Walden Woods Project in Lincoln (THIS EVENT IS AT CAPACITY)\,
  and guided walks at Minute Man NHP in the afternoon. Public participants 
 will be encouraged to explore Walden Woods using the free iNaturalist phon
 e app to help document species. Scientists and taxonomic experts will purs
 ue their work individually or in small groups in coordination with event o
 rganizers.\n\nUPDATE AS OF 6/28/19: We can no longer accept registrations 
 for specialists.\n\nUPDATE AS OF 7/5/19\, 9:45 AM: THE MORNING WALKS FOR T
 HE PUBLIC AT THE WALDEN WOODS PROJECT ARE AT CAPACITY\, so we are no longe
 r taking registrations. The walks at Minute Man National Historical Park 
 at 2 PM do not require pre-registration.\n\nSupport the Great Walden BioBl

 sts of The Great Walden BioBlitz\, you will be offered a number of special
  opportunities. Donor categories are named for some of Dr. Wilson’s best
 -selling books!\n\n\n\nFor details on previous BioBlitzes in Walden Woods\
 , in 1998\, 2009\, and at the Minute Man National Historical Park in Septe

 app will be used by scientists and the general public throughout the Great
  Walden BioBlitz. It’s an exciting way to observe and record nature\, wh
 ere species identification is suggested based on an uploaded photo and ide
 ntifications are confirmed by crowd-sourced experts on the iNaturalist pla
