Mary Sherwood (1906-2001) 


The papers of Mary Elizabeth Pasco Sherwood, environmentalist, America's first woman forester, founder of Walden Forever Wild, a Concord, Massachusetts, organization devoted to turning Walden Pond State Reservation into a national or state sanctuary in memory of Henry David Thoreau, restricting public access to protect Walden Pond and its surrounding area, and founder of The Thoreau Fellowship (Old Town, Maine).
