Walden; or, Life in
the Woods

This
is a strange book, the history of a philosopher living in the woods, a
sort of Robinson Crusoe life. It shows the simplicity with which life can
be conducted, stripped of some of its conventionalities, and the whole
narrative is imbued with a deep philosophical spirit. Altogether besides
being beautifully written, it has an air of originality which is quite
taking. We commend it to our readers.
