Contemporary Notices
and Reviews of
Walden; or, Life in
the Woods
_______
"New
Publications,"
Albany Argus (15 August 1854): p. 2, col. 7.
The
book purports to have been written chiefly while the author resided in the
woods, and earned his living by the labor of his hands. It contains a
record of a strange experience, in connection with the many bright
thoughts on various subjects that were suggested by it.
It is an intensely entertaining production.
