Description	Portrait of Henry David Thoreau by Benjamin D. Maxham, taken on 18 June 1856 at the Daguerrean Palace in Worcester, Massachusetts. Three daguerreotypes were taken at this time. This one was given to Theophilus Brown (1811-1879?) and remained in the Brown Family until 1968 when it was donated to the Thoreau Society.
