The Stewardship Lectures 2004

On Thursday, August 19, 2004, Jeffrey Cramer, Curator of Collections at the Walden Woods Project and editor of the newly-published Walden: An Annotated Edition, (New Haven: Yale University Press, 2004), gave a talk entitled "Stewarding the Spirit of Walden."

Cramer discussed the vitality of Thoreau's literature and philosophy to today's world, emphasizing particularly the emphasis Thoreau's literature puts on "self-emancipation" as the first step toward universal freedom.
