David Sibley, is the author of a number of ornithology books including  NAS, The Sibley Guide to Birds (2000), NAS, The Sibley Guide to Bird Life and Behavior (2001), Sibley's Birding Basics (2002), and The Sibley Guide to Eastern Birds (2003), The Sibley Guide to Western Birds (2003). Sibley, son of the well-known ornithologist Fred Sibley, began seriously watching and drawing birds in 1969, at age seven. Since 1980 David has traveled throughout the North American continent in search of birds, both on his own and as a leader of bird watching tours, and has lived in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Massachusetts. This intensive travel and bird study culminated in the publications of his numerous books on bird identification and behavior..
