Brister's Hill

Slated for development in the late 1980s, this site sparked the formation of the Walden Woods Project.  It is now home to Thoreau's Path on Brister's Hill, a unique interpretive trail.

Bear Garden Hill / Boiling Spring

A large development was proposed that would have forever changed the Fairhaven Hill area; this was our first purchase.

The Thoreau Institute

Built by Henry Higginson, founder of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, in 1906, now home to the Walden Woods Project offices and Thoreau Institute.

Pine Tree Farm

Our latest acquisition, we are helping to preserve the agricultural history of Concord, while further protecting historic Walden Woods.
