Thoreau’s Path on Brister’s Hill is a self-guided interpretive trail in the heart of Walden Woods, which honors Henry David Thoreau, social reformer, naturalist, philosopher, and one of America’s most powerful and influential writers.

The path is organized around five important contributions of Thoreau, each with a stopping point along the path:

Entry Meadow - as Conservationist

Brister's Orchard - as Social Reformer and Commentator

Sand Plain - as Teacher and Observer

Forest Succession - as Scientist

Reflection Circle - Thoreau's Philosophy, including its spiritual dimensions, and his influence on others.
