Don Henley is an internationally respected musician who has earned numerous awards as a solo artist and as a member of the Eagles. For most of his adult life, he has been a tireless advocate for a wide array of issues relating to the protection of the environment. He founded the Walden Woods Project in 1990 and is the President of the organization’s Board of Directors. In 1997, in recognition of his efforts to save Walden Woods and his leadership role in establishing the Thoreau Institute, he was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Clinton.
