EXHIBITION INFORMATION:
“Thoroughly Thoreau by Scot Miller: Photographs from Walden, Cape Cod & the Maine Woods” benefitting the Walden Woods Project
September 9 – October 23, 2010
Photographer Scot Miller spent over eleven years drawing inspiration from and artistically photographing the places that Henry David Thoreau explored and described so eloquently in his classic writings of the mid-nineteenth century, especially Walden, Cape Cod and The Maine Woods. To date, in cooperation with the Walden Woods Project, two of Thoreau’s books have been re-published featuring Scot’s photographs; “Walden: 150th Anniversary Illustrated Edition” and “Cape Cod: Illustrated Edition of the American Classic.” Since 2006, Miller has been photographing in the north woods of Maine for a planned illustrated edition of Thoreau’s The Maine Woods. In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Walden Woods Project, Sun to Moon Gallery is proud to introduce a stunning collection of large-format, limited-edition color photographic prints from Walden Woods and Walden Pond, Cape Cod and the Maine woods. A percentage of sales from this exhibition will be donated to the Walden Woods Project, founded by Dallas resident Don Henley. Sun to Moon Gallery, a fine art photography gallery, is located in the Dallas Design District.
