The Art and Science of Therapeutic Harp Music: Its History, Technology, Influence, and Potential from Ancient to Current Times
Sarajane Williams, M.A., Licensed Psychologist, professional harpist Kenneth Turkington, musician, woodworker, conservationist Dr. Michael Sperber, psychiatric consultant, former professor at Harvard Medical School, author of Henry David Thoreau: Cycles and Psyche.
Topics in this workshop include: -The Mythic Harp -The Therapeutic Harp - the history and development of its holistic effects on our bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits -The Aeolian Harp: History, Poetry, Music, and Design -Vibroacoustic Therapy/Harp Therapy: History and Applications -Henry David Thoreau's Harp Therapy: Discovery, Applications, and Potential -- learn how H.D. Thoreau's severe stress disorder was effectively soothed by the sounds of the Aeolian Harp, and how his experience relates to the modern science of behavioral neurology. __________________________________________
