Spreading the Gospel of Henry Thoreau
Exhibition opening lecture by Harvard University professor Lawrence Buell. Introductory presentation by photographer Scot Miller.
To mark the opening of the HMNH's upcoming exhibition, "Thoreau's Walden: A Journey in Photographs by Scot Miller," Lawrence Buell will explore a diversity of testimony, from Thoreau's lifetime through today, to the profound impact Thoreau has had upon writers, artists, thinkers, and activists. Buell is the professor of American Literature at Harvard, and author of "Emerson" (2003), winner of the Warren-Brooks Award for outstanding literary criticism. __________________________________________
Lectures are free and open to the public, and held in the Geo Lecture Hall, 24 Oxford Street, Cambridge. Free parking is available in the Oxford Underground parking facility (entrance on Oxford Street across from the end of Everett Street).
