Don Henley
Don Henley has an international reputation as a
musician, both as a solo artist and as a member of the Eagles, but he has
also been extremely active in environmental and humanitarian
issues. In 1997, in
recognition of his efforts to save Walden Woods and his role in establishing
the Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods,
he was awarded the National Humanities Medal by
President Clinton. He is also
involved in numerous other environmental projects, including conservation
efforts at the
Caddo
Lake Institute in eastern Texas
and the Dallas
Historic Tree Coalition.
